Public Facilities

Bed bugs are becoming more common in public facilities and not just in people’s homes. Due to the growing concern about bed bus in these public areas we have developed two sets of guidelines.

 School Settings

This page contains information on preventing and controlling bed bugs in a school type setting, which includes traditional schools as well as day cares and other child care settings. In addition to the guidelines there is a sample letter which can be amend and sent to parents in a classroom affected by bed bugs as well as instructions for creating a bed bug kit.

While it is uncommon, bed bugs have been seen in retail facilities. This page contains information on understanding and addressing infestation is such facilities.
